Waves: Arena Tactics is the follow up to the Indie smash Waves by Squid In A Box Ltd. We're taking the arcade action and Neo-Cyberspace styling of the original game and combining them with online Multiplayer and a custom ship loadouts to create a different kind of experience; a more tactical one.

History

Arena Tactics started out as a prototype for a turn based RPG. Like all Squid In A Box games to date they never start out how they end up! After spending a year working on a procedural dungeon generator I decided to use what I had created to create Arenas for shooters. With all the standard parts of an RPG in place like an Inventory, equipment, loot and stats I decided to roll all of these features into a sequel to Waves and try to create a highly tactical co-operative experience. Now with everything working the scope expanded yet again to include competitive mulitplayer as well as a sseries of designer created arenas alongside the procedural ones. Waves: Arena Tactics took the form it is today with dozens of weapons and hundreds of upgrades to apply to your ship. The game has become much more than the suim of it's parts.
